In this series Eliza Stamps challenges the process of drawing with small detailed formations. A threshold of these elements printed with black enamel reveals the core essence on smooth rock shaped plexiglass as sourced from Stamp’s rock collection. These planetary seedlings are suspended by stainless steel chains designed in collaboration with Mará Peralta.
Eliza Stamps' art practice is driven by a need to be generative, even when the purpose or reason behind her creations remains unclear. Her work emerges from following tangents with materials that captivate her, from simple pen and paper to tactile materials like rope or wool. She finds joy in the challenging process of drawing, where she sets up problems and dedicates time and space to solving them. Stamps prefers abstract work as it allows viewers to find their own meaning, evoking unique reactions and interpretations.
