Publisher’s Spotlight: Du-Good Press

Conceived as a rotating “pop up” series, the Publisher Spotlight aims to bring visitors to Print Center New York in direct contact with new editions throughout the year by printer-publishers that haven’t had broad exposure in Chelsea or at large art fairs. Presented in the Center’s inviting windowed lobby adjacent to the main exhibition space, in the heart of Chelsea’s art district, the series makes art accessible to new and existing collectors, and provides a platform for sales to be made directly with the publisher.

September 21, 2023 - October 21, 2023

Opening Reception: Wednesday October 4, 2023 6-8pm

An edition—in any form, acts as a permanent record. In this case three artists, Tariku Shiferaw, Rose Salane, and Insil Jang, capture the fleeting nature of a gesture, review institutional power, and interrogate the misrepresentation of an artist's role in society. Explore how these identities synthesize into a dynamic critique of colonialism at large. A deeper understanding comes to light revealing the historically crucial role artists play in generating an upswing that challenges downtrending societal norms.

On view with these new releases are “No Way” by Glen Baldridge, “The Periodic Table of Black Revolutionaries” by Char Jeré, and zines featuring the work of Margot Bird, Sara Sremac, Annie Sutzman, Leslie Diuguid, Rita Minissi, Dana Wood Zinsser, Alex Patrick Dyck, and Jessica Rae Elsaesser. Each print represents the continuation from a series of practiced works— heavily researched by the artists, brought to you in collaboration with Leslie Diuguid of Du-Good Press.
